Using digital stories during COVID-19 to enhance early-grade learners' language skills

Language is something that a child learns from their environment. English, global language, has become popular demand in many countries, including Nepal. With strong belief children learn when actively engaged the learning process, this study aims to enable early-grade learners develop language skills by emphasizing English speaking and listening skills. The question guides research- how can digital storytelling pedagogy help enhance learners' skills? Using action research, includes fifteen upper kindergarten three parents as participants two weeks’ virtual classroom settings. Data were collected through observation, field notes, interviews, questionnaires. Significant findings show effective developing of early it creates an environment where they watch, listen, interact communicate more. exposure new vocabularies meaning-making same, became more acquainted with Nepali languages. Gestures non-verbal communication added advantages stories.
